About Me
My name is Daniel Moran and I'm a Software Engineer at Compass Education.
Before joining the team at Compass Education I worked as a Software Developer at General Motors and I studied at Technological University Dublin where I graduated in BSc (Honours) in Computing with a First Class Honours.
For my final year project, I explored ways to improve the efficiency of An Garda Síochána and built an electronic dispatch, patrol and resource management system which you can read more about here.
In my spare time I like to listen to podcasts, read up about the latest tech and go cycling.

Everything from front-end technologies like React and JavaScript, to building robust back-end servers and web-services.
System Design
Designing each independent module of a system, with its own tests and requirements.
Cloud Services
Making use of powerful cloud services such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.
Mobile Development
Creating android applications as well as mobile Progressive Web Applications
Computer Vision
Teaching computers how to interpret the world and applying it to areas such as quality assurance in manufacturing lines and even self-driving cars.
Computational Intelligence
Approaches that mimic biological systems such as genetic algorithms, particle swarm optimization, neural networks and Artificial Intellegence.
